HISTORY: "Ride For Injured Cops"
The first Ride for Injured Cops was held on May 18, 2008. The ride was founded by retired Gwinnett County Fire Fighter Jim Tedder "Toucher" and Gwinnett County Police Sergeant Chris Medved "Rock", after Sergeant M. Mckeithan and Corporal W. Hoch were shot by a suspect armed with a high powered rifle during a felony warrant service. Both Medved and Tedder were taking the ride personal. Tedder rendered medical aid to the officers while on shift and Medved worked with both officers at the same precinct for several years. The ride was attended by approximately 300 riders and many businesses were quick to provide donations, door prizes, and auction prizes. The Hog Mountain and North Atlanta chapters of the Iron Pigs along with the Nam Knights, Blue Knights, Fire Dawgs, Legion Riders and Dangerous Curves Motorcycle Clubs came out in force and helped accomplish the mission with the GPEBF. It was a full day of fun and riding. Both of the victim officers were so touched by the event that they have since purchased Harley-Davidsons and have participated in fundraising events. Cpl. Hoch has recovered from his injury, continues to serve the department, and is a member of the Law Riders MC. Sgt. McKeithan recovered from his injuries after several exhausting surgeries, completed his career, retired in 2009, and is a member of the Iron Pigs MC. The proceeds from the ride were split between the two officers and the Gwinnett Police Employee Benevolent Fund. In all future events ,the Ride for Injured Cops proceeds go entirely to the GPEBF.
Original Bike Spirits, great stuff for riding rather than cleaning.
Original Bike Spirits have made a really great contribution to the 2012 RFIC. Everone in attendance will see first hand how great the products are.

HELP!!! We need help!
The Ride For Injured Cops was intended to be a one time event. The turn out we have had for the past three years proved that the Ride For Injured Cops is a positive resource for police relations with the community. The economy has taken its toll on everyone. The community has been generous. While soliciting items for the event, I coined the phrase, "Anything you can give is too much." You can make a donation by going to www.gpebf.com.
